Pensare incondizionatamente la condizione (Heidegger, il Sofista di Platone e Hegel)

Abstract

The essay examines the notion of the unconditioned and of condition (das Unbedingte and das Bedingen) within Heidegger’s work in order to comprehend its value, clear up its different significations and investigate the role of the unconditioned within a “finished thought”, i. e. of a thought that radically assumes what Heidegger himself calls the “getting over” (Verwindung) of metaphysics. These are recurring key concepts in Heidegger’s work, where they are approached and dealt with in different ways over the years. Yet it is in his 1924/25 lectures on Plato’s Sophist that the issue imposes itself with its full strength and indirectly opens the exigency of a confrontation with Hegel. If Heidegger sets with Plato a problem which he will never cease thinking about, his implicit dialogue with Hegel will take place on the basis of a question which could be formulated as follows: which unconditioned goes along with things giving themselves?
